I use an integrative approach based on the person centred model whilst enhancing this with other theories to include cognitive behaviour therapy, (CBT) transactional analysis, (TA) and neuro linguistic programming, (NLP). CBT is amongst the preferred ways of working of the NHS as recommended by the national institute of clinical excellence (NICE). |

I work intuitively using the various elements of these different models that best tailor themselves to each individual client and their needs. I believe that at our deepest level everyone has the desire and capacity to fulfil their own true potential. I also believe that we all have within us a motivating force for positive change and growth if given the right environment to nurture this ability. (Click here for an explanation of theoretical approaches from the BACP website) |

| I am friendly, empathic and non-judgmental. I feel that my work and outlook benefits from both my life experiences working within the prison and probation service and from the extensive and diverse client groups I have worked with. |

The relationship that develops between us is an important part of the process. Together we will work in a way that will best help you find and use your own inner strengths. In so doing, you may then be more able to make the choices and changes necessary to live and create a more satisfying life with meaningful and fulfilling relationships with others. I see my role as helping my clients to help themselves as I support them on their journey. I enjoy the reward of watching people develop and helping them instigate positive change in their lives. |
